Benefits of using bearings and their types

The main function of bearings is to reduce the friction between movement of two parts of the same machine, between moving part and stationary part of the machine or between two machines. The reduced friction ensures less wear and tear of machines parts. Besides this main function, the bearings also have several other advantages such as;

Power savings occurs when ball bearings are used. This may be due to ability of ball bearing to reduce friction completely than roll bearings or plain bearings. There may be  lot of other factors involved but the use of ball bearings reduce power consumption , provided other things are being equal .

The use of oil and lubricants can be expensive for some companies and machines. The use of ball bearings reduces the need for constant oiling and lubrication.

Ball bearings NSK Ball bearings in Delhi and use of other bearings eliminate the need to replace the parts of machines. This not only eliminates the labor cost or machine parts cost but also save time in repair and maintenance. The product of the company or plant never suffers because of any wear and tear issue. When there is no breakdown of machines for any reason, the product of the company or plant increases. The saving in power by the company also can come in shape of other new machines and increase in the pace of work.

The smooth running and cool operation provided by the bearings can  prevent chances of fire due to overheating of machines.The use of bearings, specially, ball bearings, ensure that the initial starting strain, which is present in motors or belts is removed. This smooth starts of motors and belts increases their life.

Types of bearings

Ball bearings are very common type of bearings, which can handle both radial and thrust loads. The only disadvantage of them is that they do not take much weight. They can be damaged if heavy load is put on them.

Roller bearings NSK Bearing dealer in Delhi can withstand heavy load but that has to be radial load not thrust load. The load is distributed over wide area and that assures that heavy load can be carried by the roller bearings.

Ball thrust bearing, as the name suggests, are designed for thrust loads. But they are primarily used in low weight and low speed applications. Roller thrust bearing and tapered bearings are the other bearings used.  Roller thrust bearings can handle large thrust loads, and that is the reason of their use in car transmissions. The tapered bearing can work with both heavy thrust and radial loads.

What are the Characteristics of Genuine SKF Bearings: How do I Know Whether it's the Original

  "SKF bearings, whether new or second hand, should be of the highest quality and meet extremely strict tolerances. They should also be manufactured to the most recent standards and specifications. The following list clarifies how you can recognize original SKF Bearings and SKF Bearing dealer in Delhi : 1) The SKF logo is clear and cannot be removed easily. All of the logos on new genuine SKF Bearings should be clear and crisp. 2) The inside ring on a new, genuine SKF Bearing has a polished finish to provide good surfaces for grease retention. This is one way to ensure that bearings remain lubricated when they are installed in equipment, as well as being easier to clean after lubrication. 3) New bearings are packed in clean, dust free boxes or containers with SKF Safety Management Systems declaration of conformity, packing list and/or purchase order number. The customer's name and address should be included on the packing list. 4) A new genuine SKF Bearing contains a...

Different Types of Bearings and their Uses

The main function of a bearing is to reduce the friction and stress in rotational and linear movements. Bearing are generally little wheels over which, a device is rolled or moved. These wheels come between the surface of the body, which is rolled and the surface of the bearing. While reducing the friction, it increases the speed and efficiency of the work. Bearing can be divided on the basis of their load handling capacity. Generally, bearing are designed to handle thrust or radial load or some are made to handle both.
